You need to work on your friendship/ relationship or make new friends
To recognize whether a particular friend is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, you can look for several characteristics. You won’t be able to detect a toxic friend for a long, but if you are alert and observe your connection closely, you can find out their intent. Now that you have identified a toxic person in your life, you can get rid of them by following the given suggestions:-
1) If you realize that they are not worth your energy and time, make up your mind to gap from them.
2) Start by Ignoring their calls and messages. This will initially be very hard on you, but a strong will-power will pull you through.
3) Once you start feeling that there is a positive difference in your life due to less influence by them, you can be more determined to leave them.
4) Talk to other friends, parents, siblings, cousins, or anyone else you trust, for helping you out of the situation.
5) Develop a hobby or start an activity which will keep you busy and give you less time to think about that person.
6) After a few dark days, you will find sunshine.
Now that you have identified who your true friends are, here are some ideas to make your friendship long lasting:-
1) Understand each other’s positive and
negative characteristics and accept it. You can gradually help each other work
harder and become a better individual.
2) Don’t let a misunderstanding creep in
and spoil your trust. Always sort things out before it’s too late.
3) Try not to involve other friends in
your fights. This may make things worse; try resolving your issues yourself.
4) Build a rapport with their parents
and family.
5) Make effort to make their joyful days
more extraordinary by your actions.
6) Never insult or embarrass them by
sharing something with others that they trusted you with. If it happens by
chance, be apologetic and make up to it as soon as possible.
7) Never advise them against their
family. Always give a positive outlook to their problems or situations. Never
show them the wrong path. If you are not capable of advising, guide them to
someone who can actually help them.
8) Motivate them to do something in
their life. Help them decide a hobby or a career according to their strong and
weak points. Be honest with them about your opinions related to them.
9) Be respectful of each other’s
backgrounds, beliefs and boundaries set by each.
10) Be mature during sensitive
conversations. You may or may not agree to everything but you can certainly
handle things in a positive manner
11) Each person has a different
personality and will behave differently. Do not compare one friend’s gestures
to another. Communicate your expectations clearly.
How to make new friends:-
1) If you have moved to a new city, school or area, stay in touch with old friends. They may have cousins or friends in that area.
2) Be outgoing and talk to new people.
3) Join a hobby class to meet new people. Or you can start any other activity which has no monetary transactions involved like going for a walk, cycling or playing in the nearby park.
4) Speak to people with an open mind. Don’t show your arrogance or attitude. Make it easy for them and yourself to initiate a conversation.
5) Don’t always show your superiority or intelligence and make the other person feel low. Friends are supposed to be spending fun time together.
6) Appreciate people you come in contact with. Admire their skills/ behavior/ personality.
7) Never make friends online. You cannot trust anyone on social media where the true identity of the person is hidden. Do not share your personal details with anyone you do not know.
8) You can join a social cause as a volunteer which introduces you to new people which share common interest.
9) Participate in more activities or competitions in school or college to get an opportunity to be known by other students and teachers.
