FAQ'S - Relationship with parents.

FAQs

1-     Why should we take the first step?

That’s so because the gap between you and parents enlarged during the tween years (8-12 years) and now that you are geared up to take the leap, showing maturity should be the foremost step by you.

2-      Do you think parents will trust us if we start talking to them?

As you sow, so shall you reap! Sowing seeds of trust will surely grant returns.

3-      How to initiate awkward conversations?

Try watching a movie or a web series which has the related subject matter ,if you cannot talk frankly.

4-      It’s complicated to have discussions with parents. They don’t understand us?

Each step is difficult if not taken. They have passed your age and no one can understand you better than them. You have their genes after all!!

5-      Why should we talk? It’s going fine just this way!

It’s temporarily going well this way. For longer run, you need to assure them of your mental and emotional intellect to gain confidence and privacy.

6-      What should we do if we have broken their trust?

Be apologetic sincerely. Remember actions speak louder than words.

7-      Why are some parents “cool” than others?

No parent or parenting is bad. Each one behaves according to their customs, traditions, beliefs, circumstances and family backgrounds. Some may have certain fears or bad experiences. Some may find problematic to revolutionize.

Help them modernize step by step.

8-      Parents don’t give enough time alone, check my phone and doubt if we are talking to person of opposite gender.

Earn your privacy by giving them space in your lives. Answer the questions they are looking for in the phones. They doubt because of no knowledge about that friend of yours. Introduce him/her as friend and don’t hide the presence of that person from your life. Always remember parents know more than you already.

However if you still face any dilemma  or you need to discuss anything, feel free to connect. We are always there for you.

Happy journey!!
